All visitors to George Washington Elementary School must report to the security desk and state their business. We are currently using the raptor security system. Volunteers and visitors will be asked for identification and will then receive an identification badge to wear while they are in the building. The visitor's name, picture, date, and time will be on the badge. If the the visitor does not have ID, a photo will be taken and the information loaded on the data base. The new system will help us to instantly screen out registered criminal offenders from campuses with children while managing a database with visitors, faculty, students, and volunteers.
In addition, all visitors may be required to pass through the metal detector. All Staff and visitors are to report any suspicious activities to the main office, the security guards, or administration.
George Washington Elementary does everything in its power to protect our students. There is a security guard stationed in each building. Security camera surveillance covers every part of the building. Annex students enter through the metal detector. All doors are kept locked. Visitors must be buzzed in to enter the building and then show identification.
Parents should contact their child's teacher to set up a date and time if they need a conference. Impromptu conferences are not available.
